Why Liverpool
London isn’t the only place to cast.
The industry has evolved. It’s no longer centred solely on London, and Liverpool has emerged as a thriving hub of creativity, production and opportunity. Productions filmed here include BBC One’s This City Is Ours and The Responder, Netflix’s House of Guinness, and The Batman.
- Most filmed outside London
- is how the Liverpool Film Office describes the Liverpool City Region.
- 1,600+
- productions have filmed across the city region since 2019.
- Just over 2 hours
- from London Euston on Avanti West Coast’s direct trains.
- About 30 minutes
- from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to the city centre by bus.
Sources: Liverpool Film Office (Impact Report 2019–2025, and the productions filmed here); Avanti West Coast; Arriva (the 500 bus).
